Adamya Chetana launches Nature Science Awareness Program

Concern for our environment is one of the top global agenda items. With increasing temperatures, pollution, depleting water table, green cover, there is an urgent need to take action.

A crucial aspect of this is to increase awareness levels and involve youngsters. To create such awareness among young students about nature, Adamya Chetana plans to initiate programmes along with IISc. In this direction, Adamya Chetana conducted a “Nature Science Awareness Test” for students of 8th and 9th standard to assess their awareness. There was an overwhelming response from young students and their schools with around 1,900 students registering for the test.

The Test was held on Sunday 25th June 2017. It was inaugurated at Adamya Chetana in the presense of our managing trustee Dr Tejaswini AnanthKumar, Sri Harish Bhat of IISc, Sri Jitendra Mardia Secretary Adarsh Group of Institutes, Dr Bharatish Rao Principal SRN Adarsh College, Smt Vani Rao BBMP Corporator & Adamya Chetana Trustee Sri Pradeep Oak.

“We are launching this awareness program under the sasyagraha movement that was started by our chief patron Shri AnanthKumar. It is extermely important to involue young students at an early age in this awareness and call for action to preserve, protect and rejuvenate our environment including green cover and water bodies” said Dr Tejaswini AnanthKumar.

Speaking at the inauguration, Sri Harish Bhatt of IISc said he was happy to see such an enthuastic response from youngsters to take a test and that there was still some hope for the future.

All the participating students, their teachers and many parents toured the Annapoorna kitchen of Adamya Chetana appreciating the hygeine and taste of the food prepared. The fact that such a large kitchen was completely ZERO garbage and does not use any fossil fuel like LPG, Diesel, etc. was a cause for amazement. Many parents remarked that they would try and emulate these practices at home or in their neighbourhood to contribute to reduction of pollution.

The awareness test was conducted at Adarsh College Chamarajpet in batches in an organised fashion ably supported by Vagdevi group of institutions. Students were excited to be writing such an interesting test that was conducted so professionally.

Adamya Chetana wil announce the results of the test and any next programs in the following days.
