Adamya Chetana launches Nature Science Internship Programme in collaboration with Indian Institute of Science
We all recognize that education goes far beyond text books. And the society today is most concerned with our environment. Adamya Chetana in collaboration with Energy & Wetlands Research Group, Centre of Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru has designed a unique Internship Programme for students that involves them in the study and appreciation of our environment and bio-diversity. This program called Nature-Science Internship Programme (NSIP) is being launched in June 2017.
What is NSIP?
As we are all aware, the life-supporting systems of the biosphere are being threatened due to deforestation, destruction of habitats, overuse of energy resources and environmental pollution. Anthropogenic activities coupled with the increasing human population are responsible for the loss of a large number of life forms; numerous important plant and animal species are on the verge of extinction, while others are threatened or are vulnerable. To bring about sustainable resource conservation and management, it is essential to understand, respect and adopt different approaches for managing the ecosystem and biodiversity. And it is equally important to start this at a young age.
Adamya Chetana Nature-Science Internship Programme will select students from 8th, 9th and 10th standard from multiple schools and work with them on this internship which will involve both research and field work. The programme is designed to encourage youngsters to take interest in the actions needed to preserve our bio-diversity and environment.
